Where will you be going most of the time? Is an amphibious aircraft really the best choice? If you will be landing at an airport most of the time, it may make more sense to consider a land-based aircraft with normal landing gear.
The range is the maximum distance an aircraft can fly between takeoff and landing. Always calculate the range based on the weight of your actual load, updating it with each change in passengers or cargo carried.
